THERE WILL BE NO FRIENDS OF CANNOCK CHASE CALENDAR FOR 2015

IT IS HOPED THAT THERE MAY BE A CALENDAR NEXT YEAR

'J. R. R. Tolkien in Staffordshire 1915-18' Exhibition
It will launch at the Museum of Cannock Chase on 7th March 2016 and remain there until 24th April.  It will then tour to various venues in the county, probably first to Cannock and Rugeley Libraries, then to Great Haywood Memorial (5th to 10th July) and then to other Library venues at Codsall, Penkridge, Lichfield and Stafford (dates still to be decided).  It is hoped to include activities with local schools as well as guided walks on the Tolkien Trail and tours of Tolkien-related locations in Great Haywood.

The author of a children's book loosely based on the mascot of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade that was stationed on Brocton Great War Camp visits the memorial to the dog Freda.

Please copy and paste the link  from the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty Unit into your web browser to read more about his visit.
